Hey all,

I'm traveling to PEI for the Air Show at the end of August and am looking for some help programming their trunk system into my scanner. I think I have the system but am having a hard time with talkgroup entries in PSREdit 500 as I've never programmed a Type I system till now.

I chose Motorola 800 as the type, entered the tables as indicated:
B0: B1: B2: B3: B4: B5: B6: B7:
S1 S2 S2 S8 S1 S2 S8 S4

But for the talkgroups, there are hyphens in the database that won't stick using PSREdit. If I enter "4035-1" it changes it to "4035" when I tab off. To see how it should look, I programmed 4035-1 in the scanner itself and it stuck, but when I downloaded it from the radio to PSREdit it was 4035 again. This is going to be an issue when I program the police as they use 4038-1 and 4038-2. Am I missing something that's preventing me from using the hyphens in PSREdit?

Thanks for any help, I figured out FleetNet for Ontario last year based on forum posts but Type I seems to be confusing me.

PEI is a Motorola Type 1 system.

Control Channels:

858.0375

System type is Mot 800/900
then set fleet map to custom
block 1 is S0
block 2 is S2
block 3 is S2
block 4 is S8
block 5 is S1
block 6 is S2
block 7 is S8
block 8 is S4

Thanks for confirming my TSYS setup J, how are the talkgroups entered though? is the portion after the dash important? When I enter "4035-1" it changes it to simple "4035" when I tab off in PSREdit. Do I need the portion after the dash?

Thanks

Fixed it. For some reason I had it set to UHF/VHF rather than an 800mhz system. It wasn't saving my custom Fleet Map so I checked everything again and noticed that it was set to UHF. When I set it to 800mhz it saved my custom Fleet Map, and it accepted dashes in talkgroup IDs then too...

Glad to hear you solved your problem. If you need anymore info on the PEI trunk system (or anything else on PEI) you can find it on my website @ Frequencies - ScanPEI

Think you have to drop the "0"'s in the numbers as they are wrong. Check the trunk info on this site for pei, they have changed it a couple of weeks ago.
