Has anyone in the Brunswick (Medina county) area been able to identify the freq / tone associated with Brunswick PD "6". This appears to be a simplex car-to-car freq but I am not close enough to Brunswick to be able to catch it.

I have been trying to figure this out for a few years now. I, along with some other folks on here, believe it is a simplex frequency. That means no repeater so you would have to be fairly close to the transmission. The best thing to do is a search on your scanner in the 460 mhz range whenever you hear channel 6 mentioned. Here are some other posts about this same topic. Sorry I couldn't provide the answer. Please let us know if you figure anything out.

You might want to try 154.0325. It is listed in the FCC database as a frequency for Brunswick Police under the same license as their UHF frequencies. By saying "go to 6" it leads me to believe they are just switching channels on their UHF radios, not switching to VHF.

While it may not be applicable to Brunswick, I know several agencies that use a different radio band for car-to-car/talkaround. Boston Heights and Mayfield village and Sagamore Hills come to mind.

I may have discovered the mystery to Brunswick channel 6. But then again, I could be way off.

Last week officers were doing a traffic detail in which they needed to tell each other when it was clear to send cars over a bridge that was being repaved. I got close and was able to monitor their transmissions.

The frequency they were using was 456.8 with a PL of 210.7. It was definitely a simplex channel.

I did a search of the FCC database, and that frequency does not return to Brunswick. It does however come back to a few construction companies and a local radio rental shop. I can say for certain that the officers were using department issued radios, not radios that belonged to the road crew.

I would recommend monitoring this frequency next time an officer talks about going to channel 6.

I've merged both the Brunswick CH6 threads. In the future rather than cross-posting to the two please report one so it can be merged (as someone else later did). We don't need two concurrent threads. Thanks.

Yes 460.025 is Ch-5 Rptr, I am suggesting Ch-6 could be direct without Rptr. Also other agencies often use service dept freqs at night.
