It's nice to be able to narrow band an Amature radio, but I think it's something that we want to stay away from as much as possible. I don't want to get the FCC getting the idea that Amatuer radios should be narrow banded.
The last thing I want to do is to have to replace my radios with one's that can be narrow banded.
With my limited funds, I have scrimped, saved and finally put togather a first class VHF/UHF radio system, one I'm proud of and really talks.
One thing I do realize is that in many larger citys, more bandwidth is needed. I live in the sticks, we have plenty of bandwidth available.
