My friend recently purchased an unconverted untouched dx94hp for 10 meter ops from an estate sale. It was purchased with the box and receipt and had never been removed from packaging. Its never been abused in the least. When the radio was first hooked up 2 weeks ago with a 1.1:1 matched antenna, it was dead keying at 40 watts and swinging to 100+ on the meter. As of this morning when he brought it to me to look at, it was dead keying 10 watts with a swing of 35-40 watts. The radio sounds great, with great audio but doesn't seem to have the "jam" it used to from what he is saying. any ideas...these radios use 4 IRF520 mosfet Transistors, is it possible even though they appear ok that one or two has gone bad? the radio still tx's at a lower power which is where my confusion comes in, In my experience if a final or driver goes you can usually see evidence of it and the radio does not tx .
