Just FYI, Hurricane Sandy did considerable damage to Moonachie with storm surge. The PD HQ is reportedly totaled. The firehouse and FAS building supposedly are in bad shape. I had heard that all but 3 Moonachie Police cars were totaled. That said, communications are being handled by Carlstadt & Hasbrouck Heights UFN. Carlstadt is dispatching Moonachie Fire & EMS on 154.1600. Hasbrouck Heights is supposedly dispatching Moonachie PD (not sure they are dispatching on their 500MHz system, as I do not listen to PD). I do not know if there are other towns' PD assisting in patrol of Moonachie or not.
