I have noticed recently that in the Fresno Area, CHP has been using their high band quite a bit. Not for just any units, but specifically "H" units. I dont know what those are. Usually 8HXX. Any ideas??

What area? Are they using them on a local agencies or one of the state high band frequencies? I know DOJ was on the air last week

These are the HEAT units, an auto theft task force. They are using the "black" on 460.450 UHF. They don't have low band CHP radios in their UC vehicles.

CHP refers to their UHF system as "Highband" (yeah, I know, but we're dealing with people who are law enforcement professionals, not communications professionals here ...).
