We're getting off cheap in as much as Canada is going to build us a new bridge in Detroit.

In watching the video on CBC Windsor 9 concerning this story, you can see these new radios are Motorola APX-7000 handheld units. They will operate on the MPSCS, Windsor P25 TRS, conventional VHF-High band, 700/800 MHz frequencies. They look fantastic.

$7000 a radio. Daaayum! Hopefully they don't drop too many in the river. Absolutely makes sense though that major neighbours like Detroit and Windsor should be able to communicate with each other, especially when both are using the same technology.

The land of broken calculators.
Sorry but in my opinion, at $7000 a radio, they should just carry two separate radios.

And what? Did we run out of cities in this country to waste money in, now we're wasting money in other countries?

And I won't even get started on that bridge deal.

It has nothing to do with interop channels. The radios they both currently use will work on each other's systems already.

It's about multiband capability to work with other agencies on different bands.
