Where are you monitoring from, the Valley/Monsey area? It's not going to sound ideal there because Grove St is not on the air yet.

It's going to be a while before fire paging is up and running at Grove St. A few months at least, the antenna was special order.

Loud and clear in NW Bergen Area. I'm guessing this is only the 44 Control Base, as I do not hear mobile units. I hear the dispatcher however acknowledging the mobile units.

Can you elaborate on what "a little rough" means?

There is a slight humming when control keys up sometimes. Also I wonder how will this affect non firefighting units like like o&r car 1 that have access to 46.18?

10 Motorola GTR 8000 analog T-Band repeaters controlled by an MLC 8000 analog comparator/simulcast controller. They are operating in base station mode, but are setup as repeaters for backup purposes.

That's a lotttttt of money. Good thing Mother Moto finally added the analog option to the GTRs.

That's just a small portion of the entire system. 100 GTR 8000 TDMA repeaters and 10 GCM 8000 digital comparators for the M2 Core ASTRO 25 7.13 system, plus 60 GPW 8000 analog receivers and 6 MLC 8000 analog comparators for the UHF fireground monitoring at the 911 center. And of course all of the microwave equipment to support everything, the 17 MCC 7500 consoles, and a few thousand APX consolettes, mobiles and portables.

Damn. That's the whole shebang. Looks like fire services up that way are predominantly UHF. Are they monitoring simplex firegrounds only, or are they linking them across the 700 MHz system?

We will be directly monitoring all 6 fire ground frequencies via the 60 GPW receivers and 6 MLC comparators that are mentioned above.
