I am going to be spending a few days in Syossett and was wondering what the primary FD frequency is since I see that they have a bunch of UHF frequencies listed in the database.

453.1000 Mhz
476.2875 Mhz
458.7125 Mhz
470.1375 Mhz

does the 453.1000 freq still work yet don't here it in Brentwood area anymore ?

Dispatch is on 470.1375 (123.0)
Fireground is on 458.7125 (114.8)
Chiefs are on 476.2875 (79.7)

I know they have (had) talkgroups on Nassau's EDACS, but I haven't heard anything on there in quite a while.

FYI, I updated the database this afternoon. None of that info was in there prior to that, which is why the OP asked for clarification. You happened to look and post after the fact.

Yes, they still simulcast on 453.100. The signal is not as good as the 470.1375.

I'm going to remove the "old" tag for 453.100.

If I remember correctly, 470.1375 was supposed to be the simulcast of 453.100. Without a doubt, 1375 is much stronger, at least from my location a few miles south of Syosset.

Interesting that you mention that, I used to hear FD on the county EDACS system back in the late 90's. I just got a PRO-163 and for the past few weeks all I haven't heard ANY FD talkgroups at all.

The .1375 repeater responds to its input frequency [473.1375]. I'm guessing as radios are reprogrammed or replaced, both repeaters work.

You aren't going to .. The NCFD Groups on the EDACS system are rarely used..........but now we are off topic.

so the 453.100 is low power repeater now just for Syossett fd area only ! Ok !

453.100 has officially signed off the air at noon today. I've marked the frequency deprecated in the database, and will delete it from record in about a week.

Syosset dispatch will now only be on 470.1375

Supposedly, but they converted their YW license to PW in 2005 and that was that.

I live less than 1/2 mi away from the FD on South Oyster Bay Rd. I have only seen what looks like a very tall "folded dipole" type of antenna on it. Do they use the same antenna for all the UHF frequencies?
