Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 6_1_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B329 Safari/8536.25)

Anyone know when the 120 and 121 will have their separate channel from the 122 and the 123 as it stands the 121 122 123 all on the same channel. Rumor was the zone 35 north would be split from the zone 35 south which simulcasts

I hope sometime soon, the frequency is very overwhelmed with the 121 on it. that would be a smart move to have the 120/121 on one frequency and 122/123 on the other.

I would guess that the answer is, "When NYC can afford to hire dispatchers for the new channels."

They can't just add a channel out of thin air. It takes a lot of bodies to make a dispatch channel work.

They've actually had the zone split since before the hurricane so there has been an additional dispatcher working on each tour. The whole point of this thread is about moving the 121 onto the same zone as the 120 thus giving us 2 commands on each zone. Splitting zone 35 into two separate zones is more of a technical issue then it is a staffing one. This was discussed in a previous thread. There is an issue with the north channel. Over the past few weeks it emitted a constant tone whenever transmitting. More than likely down for repair

Anyone hear of the next move as to either narrowbanding or leaving the uhf t band to a new band like 700 megs

With the 121/122/123 Pcts on CW 1 instead of Zone 35 N & S, there is speculation on what is going on.

First, both of the Zone 35 transmitters share the same input frequency and the other is used as TAC B. For these two repeaters to be truly independent, TAC B would have to be changed to another frequency. Also, many of the remote receive sites would have to be programmed with the current TAC B frequency as the repeater input.

However, this may NOT happen and the SI Pcts will get all new repeaters on different frequencies. Time will tell (or maybe some "insider"). :)

This afternoon, testing on 482.5875 (Zone 35 South) with signal checks into various remote receive sites as well as pure tones for tuning up equipment. It looks like the split of the two linked repeaters is starting as nothing was heard on 482.8875 (Zone 35 North). Stay tuned! :)

PBSI ?

Where is the Staten Island Patrol Borough channel? Used to be 482.4125 before hurricane sandy,
Then the freq. was gobbled up by the 120 pct.

Currently as of 3/15/15 the 122 is operateing on the citywide1 frequency for manhattan. I have no idea why they would switch but everytime an officer from another division would come over to do a name check the dispatcher says ''citywide1 is closed'' All the cops have to use cw2 for name checks now.
