Morgan County EMCD 9-1-1, has applied to the FCC to erect a multi-site Project 25 TRS. Does anyone know what vendor was chosen to construct this new digital radio system? From what I can gather, it will probably be a Phase 1 system.

License application.

Interesting.

Sharp Communications is listed as the contact, and they are a Motorola and Kenwood dealer. The license only lists 8K10F1E, P25 Phase I voice.

Motorola - P-25 Phase I. 4 Sites, 6 channels per site.

System is controlled by the same Core as Madison County.

Right here...
Ron the Alabama First Responder Network is not listed as Statewide yet so it does not show up under the TRS list in Morgan County. Could we add Morgan County to the county list for AFRN, and what about getting it listed as a Statewide system soon?

Thanks,
Mark

I just shifted the AFRN over to a Statewide listing in the database. This should make things a lot easier as more sites come online at various locations throughout the state. Likewise, some P-25 trunking systems currently in use will likely join this system in the future when they upgrade to ASTRO 7.13.

I have noticed that decatur fire sounds like it is running a patch from a digital system to their old analog VHF frequency. Is anyone in the region that can monitor rfss 3 site 7 and see if any talkgroups are registering?

pretty sure on these 2 tgs:

32050 - hartselle fire
32040 - decatur fire

also briefly heard something on 32049. might be a decatur fire tac channel or ambulance service.

little update:

32017 morgan co metro (trinity, somerville, priceville, falkville)
32020 sounds like radio techs testing
32040 decatur fire
32046 decatur fire channel 2
32049 decatur ambulance svc
32050 hartselle fire
32089 decatur ambulance svc admin?

the 32049 tg pages out ambulance and fire, but then the rest of the decatur fire traffic is on 32040.

to me this system has much less garble and loss of traffic than the madison county 700 system.
