Uniden Bearcat BCT8 programming question

im still kinda new to scanners. so bear with me.

i have all the frequencies for my county entered into my scanner, so when the county pages out fire/ems i can hear the tones and what they get paged for.

but there is a few that i can not hear. i can hear the county say they're going to page out fire/ems, but i can not hear the tones, nor what it is for.

what gives? is it the scanner? digital?

are they trunked? and thats why im not able to hear them?

Lafayette County is all conventional analog according to the DB: Lafayette County, Wisconsin (WI) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Are the departments being paged in adjacent counties?

Maybe you are too far away and/or don't have a good enough antenna to hear them. What depts. don't you hear the pages for? Do you have an outside antenna?

Some fire depts. on the east edge of the county may be paged on Green County Fire 154.160.
