I was wondering if any one knows if Newmont went encrypted or what? I have a digital scanner and have added all Newmont channels RR has listed. So for nothing better to do I went out by a mine and only herd radio static on most channels. Probably the wireless system they are using. No voice at all....

Newmont is Trbo Capacity Plus with encryption.

Almost all Barrick properties are Trbo now with combinations of LCP, IPSC or conventional Trbo with RAS and encryption.

Most other mines are rapidly going that way also.

Yeah, it sucks, but for some reason they don't want people to know what they are doing there.

(I dunno, the BIG PIT tends to give it away....)

I can decode trbo but I have never looked up the frequencies for phoenix because I work there. but if I knew them, I might give a listen once n a while..
