Denver Public Safety EDACS and P25 system cross-reference info

When Denver dispatchers patched DPD District-1 dispatch with BLUE NE on the EDACS side the other night (for the incident where a possible homicide suspect bailed at a traffic stop), Steve B. noticed a patch go up on the Denver P25 side as well. So we combined patch logs from the P25 side that he had and some info from the EDACS side that I had and came up a tentative cross-reference for DPD dispatch TGs between the two systems. Most of the credit here goes to Steve.

EDACS TG..........P25 TG..........TG Name

529 (04-021)..........35072..........DPD D1 Dispatch
545 (04-041)..........35083..........DPD D2 Dispatch
561 (04-061)..........35094..........DPD D3 Dispatch
577 (04-081)..........35105..........DPD D4 Dispatch
593 (04-101)..........35116..........DPD D5 Dispatch
609 (04-121)..........35127..........DPD D6 Dispatch

On the EDACS system, each DPD district has 16 TGs, but on the P25 side it looks like each district will only have 11 TGs. This is why the numbers don't line up exactly between the two systems. They didn't use all 16 on the EDACS side anyway. Or if this is not the case then it may have something to do with the AFS to DECIMAL conversion math. If anyone has any ideas, please chime in.

We are also working on the cross-reference for the SAID patch TGs on both systems (and there are more patch TGs than are listed on the Radio Reference DB listing - we will get those added as well).

Hi Dan, you're right, the district lists use fewer than 16. I just looked and it's actually 8 in use if you count them all, because 8 are duplicates: 5 other districts, clear 1& 2, and car to car cw.

Did these TG's register as voice grants or just affiliations?

At the moment, both the Arvada and Denver sites are registering a single Patch between 35464 and 142 (with 142 as a the "Supergroup"), but I'm seeing no affiliations or grants. Also, I just noticed that both the Arvada and Denver sites are not broadcasting any "adjacent sites".

Voice grants only on the EDACS side so far (correct me if I am wrong Steve B.) but patches did show up on both P25 and EDACS sides.

Anyone have the latest if Denver is going to switch to the P25 yet? Using the Pro96Com program this morning and only seeing two TG's that being used today TG-35127 which was earlier identified as DPD District 6 Dispatch and the other TG 35743 which I'm not sure yet. Also there about 24 frequency's being used and currently the CC is on 852.37500. Below is what I've seen on system.

A while back my site file had 40+ frequencies. It appears as if Denver is periodically pulling frequencies from their various EDACS systems for P25 testing and then moving them back.

Once a fequency has been logged in Pro96Com it stays in your site file permanently causing it to show up even if it isn't active. Notice all the frequencies have a hit count of zero?

Since I log 24x7 I often find several frequencies that are no longer active. I'll periodically cleanup my site files by doing one of the following:

1. Delete the site file from my Pro96Com folder. The next time you log the site a new one will be created.

2. Open the site file with a text editor and delete the lines for each inactive frequency. The next time you log the site the old frequencies will be gone.

If you copy the site files somewhere outside of your Pro96Com folder you can always move them back if you screw something up.

I don't know when they will switch, all the rumors I heard indicate it won't be anytime soon.
