A reliable source just informed me that the Wallington FD will be switching to a new frequency next week. The new frequency will be 501.8625 with an open PL. Testing is expected before the change is made. I will keep you updated if anything changes.

interesting for years they have discuss back & forth about using the County trunk system, like Lodi they do have a county radio just for mutual aid use by the corrdinators, and were going to use the 501 freq for fire ground, what ever happen to the county plan?

Wallington according to their FCC license for PD they are allocated for 4 500 MHz Repeater pairs. The PD mainly uses only one pair/ frequency and rarely uses a 2nd as a channel 2.

The frequency just posted for the FD move is one of those unused pairs already licensed.

It may be a fact that the PD and FD will split with each getting 2 repeater pairs to use.
I have seen towns do this before.
