Yes. I just bought a BC245XLT and am trying to find stuff around Lexington.

There is a very good emergency network (HAM) that can be monitored by scanner. The severe weather reports there are as accurate as you can get. The HAM operators are actually out there in the weather sending
back critical info. Great stuff in the Lexington area!

The best emergency nets are located on 146.760 and 444.125 MHz in
a severe weather condition.

with apologies...

i listen almost constantly (mostly because of work at the tv station) but figured there were a lot more folks who listened as much as i do.... was looking for folks in the various counties who would listen for us and call if they hear anything interesting....

jw: what are the freqs the hams use on their wx net?

maybe there aren't many folks in the lexington area who know about this website.....
