Pro 197 update timed out??

cant update firmware

scanner now doesnt have firmware


up bootver: RF1.2
up App ver: NONE
CPU SW Upgrade
wait for PC/IF

Ive tried version 1.4 1.7 2.0 and 2.1

I can get the scanner to enter upgrading.. mode but the upgrade utility will stop and I get a message that says TIMED OUT WAITING FOR RESPONSE FROM SCANNER. ??

I have tried 2 different computers, tried all the updates and iam using the gre usb cable that has been working fine for propgramming tsys. Could the cable be the issue? Any help appreciated.

Went to radio shack and bought another cable to try and the update worked perfect. The bad one is a gre branded cable.
