• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good evening,
I have been doing some research on the unication G1 pager. So far I have found that it will fit my needs well. How ever before I make the jump on buying one I would like to play around with the software. In order to do this I need either the pager or a codeplug from a pager to open the software. If anyone is willing to share a codeplug with me so I can use the software I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Here's a blank UHF code plug..... I've had a G1 for a few months now and I can say that you really need a programming cradle if you want to get the most out of it.....The cradle is way too expensive IMO at $200 and I really think they need to lower their price on it like Motorola did with the Minitor IV.... That being said, having someone else program it wouldn't work for me. There are so many settings and options it can be daunting to program but it's the only way I'd be able to get the unit to work the way I want it to.....

Thanks for the reply! If I do end up buying the pager I am going to get the programming cradle with it for sure. There are just too many settings and like you said having programmed by someone else won't work for me either.

I noticed with the codeplug above, in the software, the bandsplit is actually listed as 450-473 MHz. Can anyone confirm that you actually can put frequencies in the 471/472 MHz range in without a problem? All of the literature I've seen specifically lists 450-470 MHz.
