Lost interest in monitoring TX DPS once the MDT's were installed. Just not like it used to be. But thinking I will put a 996XT in the car for ATC, locals and DPS while working around the state. If I have the entire list, with the NAC's then no matter where I am I should hear the closest dispatch center without actually having to go to that regions freq plan...is that correct.

Just have a lot of driving ahead of me in the next few years and figure this could help pass the time...

thanks...

I hear TxDPS all the time. I live in DPS Region 3 and hear the Corpus Christi dispatch. I also hear other dispatches from other region 3 areas.

THANKS....I guess to be a bit more specific, If I enter the statewide plan wherever I go, I should hear some DPS activity? Without having to put in the separate regions.

Who knows, maybe I will go with a 536, I already have a GPS I use for my HP-1, and then would be a bit more specific.

If you monitor the most common frequencies, you will probably hear them. Especially if you disable the tones.
155.46 or 155.4675 digital for base
154.68 or 154.6875 digital for mobiles
155.445 or 155.4525 digital for alternate base
154.695 or 154.7025 digital for alternate mobiles
159.21 and 159.2175 is a common relay
but in large cities like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio they will also be on the local trunked system.
When there is bad weather, I hear DPS talking to the aircraft DPS 100 many miles away. on the above frequencies. I heard them at 2am this morning doing water rescues.

155.46
155.4675
159.21
159.2175
159.09
159.0975
155.505
155.5125
with the NAC off or set to SEARCH.
There are other non-standard frequencies in some areas.
