As always, I am constantly changing the radio setup in my SportTrac. A couple months ago, ATF1224 had his console for sale http://forums.radioreference.com/pi...-setup/295501-2005-ford-explorer-install.html, so I took him up on it.

Since I work night shift, I'm not always awake during the daylight hours to get it installed. Today I got started. I pulled out the original console and radio equipment. In the first two pictures, you will see how dirty it can get after being in there for 12 years!

While the console is out, it's a good time to clean the area!

Here is the equipment I will be installing:

7" LCD screen hooked up to the backup camera.
RH96 Remote Head hooked up to the BC996T
GE Orion Remote Head VHF & UHF (dual radio's into single head)
Equipment 1 Resized.jpg

Here is the console just placed to see how it will look:

This is as far as I have gotten. I am going to use an aftermarket console to replace the one I removed (for the arm rest & storage). I am also looking for replacement plates for both of the remote heads to mount them. I have 3 X9000 series plates to trade if interested. I'm going to try and work on the wiring this weekend and if I do, I'll upload more pictures.

Work in progress!
