VSP Appomattox 3 Active Saturday

VSP Appomattox 3 (STARS talkgroup 100) was active Saturday afternoon. Mentioned were a "cone truck" and "interstate." Some of the units sounded like they were patched in. Anyone know if this was used for the UVA football game?

No, the VSP helicopter was on that TG for on-going search-operations.

VSP units supporting football, etc., use one of the 8Call90/8Tac9x channels to patch into CECC's system of "Event" TGs as a means of interoperability. The Appomatox TGs have not been used for these events as far as I know.

I too heard the same thing, yes I believe it was used for the football game. They had trafffic relating to a 50YOF that was at the east gate proclaiming that she was going to drive home and have a party and the officials were saying that she was intoxicated. Approximately 15 mins after that call went out to find her, I heard traffic that seemed to indicate that she had been found and perhaps apprehended. The 8Call90 traffic was loud and clear.
