I'm not sure if anyone has checked out the "2014 Teak Publishing Air Show Guide" on Amazon?
In there under the Blue Angels there is the following

Blue Aircraft Radio Button Preset Plan
Ch 01-07 NAS Pensacola
Ch 08-10 Team Frequencies
Ch 11-15 Show Site Frequencies
Ch 16-18 Team Frequencies
Ch 19-20 Unknown Usage

Has anyone got a handle on these Preset Buttons as to what Frequencies are assigned to any of these Buttons?
Has anyone heard of this Before?

All the most used ones are in the DB, and older issues of the MT Airshow guides, and haven't changed in years.

Presets 1-7 is the same for all NPA aircraft. (tower, gnd, a/d, c/d). (same for most any other base/wing)

Sorry you caught me off guard ...

You mentioned 2 things I need you to clarify if you would please:

1. What does NPA aircraft stand for?
2. On Presets 1-7 you have (tower, gnd, a/d, c/d) ... so does that mean 1 is for Tower, 2 is for Ground, 3 is for Arrival/Departure, 4 (c/d?? clearance/delivery?) ... programmed for the location of the air show?
If so ... what is 5-6-7 preset for?
Is there a place or link to find this info ??

Thanks Much

Military aircraft have both VHF and UHF radios, they both have 20 channels of memory (presets)
you can enter any frequency you want into them and then have a quick recall of the frequency.
So instead of having to enter the tower frequency of say 236.1, dialing in the the frequency on four different dials or having to punch in the four digits, you can select the (preset channel) with rotation of a dial or the entry of a single/double digit, to recall the tower frequency of 236.1.

1. KNPA/NPA = NAS Pensacola - aka Sherman Field
2. No, just giving an example of what's saved in the first few presets of any given radio, specific to it's home base. The amount of presets/freqs used for ATC type stuff is of course going to vary from base to base. In the case of the Blues, they certainly don't reprogram their presets for every show, every week.

You can find pubs containing the comm cards for most of the various TRAWINGs on the CNATRA website. Though you'll have to install the DOD browser certificates to access them, which is easy enough. TAW-6 presets 1-7 are all the same, so it stands to reason the Blues' are too. (you won't find any pubs containing that kind of info for the Blues, or any other combat wing online though)
