BC75XLT - Blank, dark display

My BC75XLT works fine except the display is blank and dark. I can turn the light on and the screen turns orange but no numbers are displayed. I replaced the batteries thinking it was that but it isn't. Perhaps I inadvertently pressed a wrong button? Anyone?

There should be a way to adjust the contrast. You probably have it turned up all the way.

There is no contrast adjustment. At least none that I can find in the manual or on the device.There must be something wrong with the display. Now I can see the little numbers that run along the top "B:1 2 3 4" when it is scanning.I can also now see parts of the scanning channels as well as parts of the word "SCAN". I'll have to call Uniden on Monday.
