Vincennes, IN - Knox County radio system creates ‘fuzzy’ situation for first responde

VINCENNES, Ind. — Newly installed upgrades to Knox County’s E-911 system are proving to be a problem for first responders using the equipment, county officials explained Tuesday to News 10. The County Council in August approved approximately $635,000 for equipment upgrades and new radios for Knox County fire, police, and first responders.

"The transition to digital, county officials explained, is proving to be more of a problem than a solution. Knox County Commissioner Donnie Halter told News 10, the system is plagued with problems.

“We don’t care what needs to be done, but it’s got to be fixed before it gets somebody hurt. This system just goes into total failure,” said Halter.
