Is that a TYT to the left of the keyboard on top of the other mobile?

Yes it's the TH-9000D UHF :)

I realize this is off-topic a bit, but...in looking at the TYT radios just now on their site it's obvious the TH-9800 (different from the OP's model) is modeled after the Yaesu FT-8900...so I wonder if the mic from the TYT would work on the Yaesu? Those Yaesu mics sure come across cheap...the PTT on mine rattles when it's in the the mic clip in my vehicle while mobile. That TYT mic looks more rugged...

Anyway, sorry...back to regularly schedule program already in progress.

I own a TH-9800. The mic may look more rugged, but it's not. It's pretty lightweight.

Okay, now we can go back to the regularly scheduled program. :)

OK, well good to know...looks can be deceiving. Just with those Yaesu mics were better. Anyway, OP: Nice setup here! (See, that was back on target...haha)

Hi guys, the TH-9000D is a really good radio for the price. It's packed with features and can be picked up for as little as £100/$150 shipped. The mic looks rugged at NWI_scanner_guy said but if feels cheap!

Very easy to programme, decent TX and RX quality and accessories/replacement parts are cheap :)
