Key West has wanted to secede for years (google Conch Republic) from Florida but I'd bet they wouldn't want to be a part of the new South Florida either ....

So just because some city commissioners in a podunk town that's 2.3 square miles have a vote, we're supposed to take this serious. Are they eating expired medication? What a joke! They need to be sucked into a Miami like Hacienda Village was sucked into Davie. They have absolutely no say in the workings of the state. 2 minutes of fame in the nightly news.

It makes perfect sense.
It REALLY does. The north end is nothing like the south end. They'd both be better off divorcing from one another.
I lived there for 25 years. All over the state. Slice it in half at about a 20% angle so Tampa and Melbourne are included in the southern division and the rest of the state can go **** **
