• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Yeah, mount them in the center console. Not sure if they make one for the 2014's yet, but it's worth a look. It's an frame that goes under the lid. The radio heads get mounted on a plate and the plate gets mounted to the frame. Look at the Havis and Troy websites. Probably someone more familiar with doing radio console mounts can come up with the right part numbers.

Now, how about the antennas. Last I heard the 2014's have aluminum body, right? That's good, since magnets belong on refrigerators, not antennas.

The aluminum may be a problem. I would certainly very cautiously inspect the gauge of the metal before drilling lots of holes, a standard NMO is gauged for steel sheet metal. Aluminum may be a tad thicker than you expect.

I know for previous years, fleet Fords had a gearshift relocation kit that put the floor mount back on the column. Then a standard full rail console would fit.

Not sure how much you want to hack at a new vehicle.

That's a very good point.
Since a lot of these see utility, government and public safety use, I'll be interested to see how the installs go on these.

Magnetic mounts certainly have their place, but glad it won't be on the roof of these nice looking new trucks.

The piece that says "Synce" just below the climate controls can be removed and a control head may fit there depending on size. I stuck a remote head for my 996XT scanner in that location.

For antennas, I'd suggest vehicle specific mounts. The antenna farm has them. While mine is a 2013, I suspect the same bracket may work unless there has been a major re-style:

There is a photo of my antennas on another post in this forum.
