I heard that Whistler might make an announcement at SEMA this week concerning the release of the WS-1095. Anybody heard anything?

This comes from a source that was at SEMA this week, I am told Ws1095 will be 8 more weeks if that changes or any more news I will post.No price yet.

Is the Model 1095 a portable scanner? That is what I need.

The WS-1095 is a mobile/base. The WS-1080 is a handheld.
I can't say as I blame them for "no comment", after seeing what Uniden has been going through, for announcing something that isn't ready yet.

It's basically the feature set of a WS1080, in a mobile configuration, with a removable control panel.
I wouldn't expect anything different, performance/feature wise, than a GRE PSR-800.

That is a great looking radio, and the remote head function will be a god send for many, especially in mobile applications.
Does that look like a full-sized SD card slot?
That would be really nice. No need for a tiny card in that unit.

I have no problem with the SD card slot on the 1080. It is far superior to the kludge on the 436HP.
