Does anyone have information about the radios in the school buses? I could not find a listing in FCC database, nor a talk group on city/county trunked system.

Ron,

Try this one.

155.160 Mhz. License WPCC728

This frequency is licensed to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.

This maybe used for both buses and school maintenance too.

Hope this helps

RCS

According to database, I think the transmissions on RCS 451 mhz system are Winston Salem Transit, but the 800 mhz system (which is not shown in Radio Reference database) may well be school buses. I have added the RCS systems to my scanner and will be listening. Also added 860.9125 to see what is there. It has keyed up a few times, but I've heard no audio.

Yes. So far I've had hits on 3 talk groups on the 800 mhz system. After more monitoring I should have a better idea of usage of each TG and will submit info to RR.

I'm new to scanning and I don't have a trunked scanner, but I have heard what I'm almost certain is the school buses in forsyth county on some kind of trunked system.

I think this is the licence:
ULS License - Business, 806-821/851-866 MHz, Trunked License - WPLX883 - RCS Communications Group - Frequencies Summary

However, I have heard traffic on 860.9125 too.

I hope hope this helps!

I'm don't know much about trunking and scanners, but I can tell you that while somebody on the school maintainance side might still use 15x.xxx and 46x.xxx all of transportation is on a 800mhz system. The GPS tracking system was radio, but is now cellular.

Have identified 4 LTR trunk freq with LCN as follows: 859.8375 (1), 859.8875 (2), 857.8875 (4), 860.8375 (9).
Best guess on some talk groups: 0-01-041 Bus Maintence, 0-01-201 North 1, 0-01-202 South 1, 0-01-203 Specialty Buses, 0-01-201 Central, 0-01-225 ALL CALL
All I'd are guesses based on traffic content.

I've monitored this system off and on with not much success so I was hesitant to submit un-verified information. I'm also not sure on the official names, some I've only heard referred to as "channel 4A" or "channel 6A" Maybe someone can fill in the gaps:

0-01-041 Ch. 1A Control
0-01-040 Ch. 2 Bus maintenance
0-01-204 Ch. 3 Supervisors
0-01-042 Ch. 4A Walkertown corridor?
0-01-202 Ch. 6A Southwest corridor?
0-01-203 Ch. 7A
0-01-206 Ch. 8A Central corridor
0-01-207 Ch. 10A East corridor?
0-01-208 Ch. 11A Northeast corridor?
0-01-201 Ch. ? Northwest corridor
0-01-205 ????? unknown
0-01-225 All call

The thing that has confused me is the supervisors over multiple corridors ex: "North 1" or "Car 29" which made it hard to properly ID the corridor. I've also heard control tell busses to switch to "A" channels; is there a "B" channel?

I tried to ID the talkgroups also, and did not have much success.

I'll try to find some time to work on this system... however, the signal is weak at my location so I may not be able to hear the system very well.
