Well had this radio for some time now, and few of the LTR system have figured out work on/off.

My biggest problem is Monroe County, Pa Pocono Mountain School District

461.3000 R3
461.6000 R7
462.0500 R11
463.3625 R15
463.4625 R19
WPUS204

Very active system and according to the FCC Database all the frequencies are there and have the R # for each, placed in order and nothing happens. Have it set for LTR the T even comes up in the corner.

Whats missing.. Have the system in bank as
601 461.3000 etc..

Any ideas appreciated.

The freqs. in an LTR system must be in specific channels - not necessarily in order.
Try putting them in the "R" channels (R3=channel 603, etc.)

Dick is correct. You've pointed out your first mistake. You should be using 603 for the frequency 461.3000, not 601. The R# is a "repeater number". For the frequencies above, they must be in channels 3,7,11,15,19 of whatever bank you're using (which appears to be bank 6).

Furthermore, once you get this programmed, if there is an error, you'll hear beeps from the scanner whenever there is a transmission on this system. That typically means a repeater is missing or not programmed correctly.

Yup that was it, couldnt recall what was doing wrong and remember trunking the system orgionaly.. Now just to double check with the system trunking can put conventional frequencies or will that cause failure?

I can't imagine your scanner will be packed with 1000 frequencies such that you need every channel slot. Certainly you can mix Conventional and LTR, but I'd do so with caution.

What I'd probably do in that situation is start using channels 99 downward for Conventional. Regardless I wouldn't program those seemingly unused slots in between just in case a new repeater is added. Consider starting at channel ~30 or so and programming upward with Conventional unless desperate for space.

Thanks, ya mostly conventional like try keep the area working in grouped in one bank the only problem up here in poconos we have crap load of LTR systems off other LTR systems and conventional systems. Working in security field like to catch what area im working in.

Thanks but did get the system to work finally.

Remember it will be channel 602 for it to work properly. Channel 600 is technically the first channel. This causes a lot of confusion. So R03 (461.3000) will be on 602 not 603. And that will allow for proper LCN

Nope. What DickH and gmclam posted is correct. Check the RR database for the LCN...03, 07, 11, 15, and 19. Otherwise it won't scan properly.

Mine scans perfectly fine the way I have it. The database says LCN 3 but when you program it should be on 602 because if you use 603 it technically according to the scanner it is LCN 4 and it won't trunk. It may be different in firmware revisions.

What the database has is correct but to program my 164 I have to subtract 1 from each.

Thanks. You are from the area and would know. Sounds like a glitch in the 164. On my trip this past summer, I didn't program in Franklin county.
