Is there any software that will import GPS data from RR for the BCD 996T. I know ARC 996XT will for the BCD 996XT but ARC 996 won't for the T model. I was checking out FREE SCAN but it seems to only want to do GPS Data on the XT line. BUTEL software has separate programs for each model. ProScan software won't let you import data from one model to the other. I don't want to copy and paste all the GPS data for the area I want to cover from ARC XT to Arc 996.
My copies of ProScan import the GPS data just fine from the RR database for my old 996T and of course the newer XT models.
ARC996 Pro shows the GPS data on the sites Import screen in the app but you are correct in that it does not appear to import the actual GPS data. At least I could not get it to do so.
I have a few P25 sites in the database for my 996T that ARC996Pro does show the GPS data for some of the sites and I know I did not input it so who knows where that came from. Maybe I'd did an RR import with ProScan and then read the 996T with ARC996Pro and that pulled the GPS data from the radio.
I've not tried Freescan with an actual import from RR but it does seem to read existing GPS data from my 996T just fine.
Edit: I am using an older version of ProScan with my 996T as I have it connected with a Serial to Ethernet adapter and the newest versions of ProScan have issues with that connection so maybe something has changed and broke with ProScan 7.x versions and the older "T" series and GPS data. The version I use fpr my 996T is Proscan version 6.8
Edit2: FreeSCAN 2.17 does import the GPS data from the RR database into my 996T database just fine. I did check the "Enable GPS use by default" tick box in the options tab before I did my test import so maybe if that is not checked, it skips the GPS data?
I've also done all these tests with P25 sites only. Have not tried any conventional analog stuff.
