I created a system on my new Uniden BCD396XT using Free Scan software and labeled it System 1.
I would like to listen to some pre-programmed frequencies such as the Ham radio frequencies, Close call etc but am now unable to find them. Did I overwrite them when I downloaded the local frequencies?
Programming has been a real experience!

Sounds like you erased all systems before you uploaded to the scanner. There is a check box on FreeScan to do that. Save your new system then do a master reset on the scanner (will erase all systems and settings) and when it asks to reload pre-programmed systems answer yes.

To reset turn scanner off, then hold down 2, 9 and hold while turning scanner on.

The pre-loaded stuff is pretty old. The RR database is probably more accurate.

Remember to assign a System Quick Key number to any new systems to allow you to turn them on and off quickly and you can name them after the system (instead of Smstem 1).

One trick I use I also include the quick key number in the alpha tag. Then I can scroll down through the menu list in "Programmed Systems" to see all systems and their QKs..
