Mason City was also issued a license and I was able to verify that it is operational. I can hear almost every site in Iowa with a little band opening and personally haven't heard "Burt" or "Council Bluffs". That is why I posted my question here.

Over the years I wondered why there was no site near Mason City. It seemed to a pushing it for coverage to have that much area to coverage. I have been in that part of state and is pretty flat. But still it pretty far between tower sites. I would make a guess I bet the "C" tone is the one. As to the Council Bluffs site might that be a replacement for Glenwood?

Yes, Mason City is C. I have sat on AREA 2 to listen, but only hear Blairsburg, Belmond, and Mason City. And out West I only hear Glenwood and Atlantic.

So either the sites were never built, or they were, but they are using the old tower location for the name at the new site. Similar to how they say Des Moines but the tower is actually in Woodward, Iowa.

Tonight I heard a broadcast on 155.685 PL192.8 (Glenwood LEA) and 155.665 with PL tones 127.3 (Unknown) and 146.2 (Atlantic DPS) While driving through Fremont, Nebraska. The broadcast was about a suicidal party driving on I-29.

Using the chart and map for Iowa state patrol communications in the WIKI, I believe that Council Bluffs is using PL 127.3 or tone A for the DPS and LEA repeaters. I can not confirm this 100%

Your theory makes sense. Thanks for this input.

155.655 PL127.3 has to be Council Bluffs. I have never heard ISP inside my apartment until just now. I live in Elkhorn, NE in a valley and Council Bluffs makes the only sense.

I have not heard anything on the LEA frequency with PL 127.3. If ISP has installed a LEA repeater in Council Bluffs I'm sure Pott County would set up a patch to ORION for that LEA, like they have with Glenwood and Atlantic. I would assume the talk group would be 2707.

I did submit 155.655. PL127.3 for submission to the database for Council Bluffs Base.
