Looking for suggestions for types of scanners that will receive p25 system in
lancaster county PA

Uniden BCD396T, BCD396XT, BCD996T, BCD996XT, BCD436HP, BCD536HP, HomePatrol, HomePatrol-2. All are very good scanners. The HomePatrol-2 is Uniden's newest.

The old Radio Shack PRO-106 is a good handheld and tracks this system fine. It only does Phase 1 P25 digital. It works on the Lancaster, York, and Dauphin digital systems, but not on the new Berks system (which is Phase 2 P25).

My PRO-106 goes out the door with me before my two newer models because of the ease of quick programming in the field. Some of the newest digital scanners on the market rely on computer software for most programming.

My recently purchased BCD996XT works well. I am in the Centre County area which used P25 Trunked Phase 1.
