DOT checkpoints

Hello the other day was in doswell at the va state fair grounds seen dot checking dump trucks 18 dwellers act but no radio talk I have all dot freq of dot on the stars programmed herd nothing . I seen a dot officer talking on his radio and heard nothing . is dot for 18 whellers check point on stars and if so what talk group? If not what radio freq do they talk on ?

All State Police Motor Carrier unit numbers usually start with 39.Example if you heard a unit 3910 that would be a Motor Carrier officer.I have heard on them on VSP Richmond channels 1&2 usally around the Dalghren or Sandston weigh stations.

They are frequently out here as well and operate on VSP channels for area. I.E. Salem 2 and associated tacs
