Anybody else hearing the fax like transmissions being sent on 252.150? I'm sure it's data but was wondering if anybody could identify what type? I don't have a recording but if you can hear the lant sats you'll catch it. It's been transmitting for hours in bursts.

Thanks,
Rob

I'm not hearing anything at the present time.

Could it be SSTV?

This same signal has often been on 252.150 MHz and 255.560 MHz
On one or the other of those two frequencies off and on for days at a time.

Edit: Yep, that's him. He's back on 252.150 MHz now with SSTV. (at 1954 UTC, 1454 EST)

Rich

SSTV at 255.560 MHz on the bottom SDR#:

Wow thanks Rich! That takes balls to send SSTV on a milsat. What is he transmitting the same image over and over again?

Yeah, I don't know what he's doing.
He'll get on there and send the same image for hours and hours.
Once in a while, I see the image does change.

Or maybe, he's in the jungle, and his wife is sending photos of the kids. ;)

This is what he's been sending today.
over and over and over and ..................

You can see from the thumbnail history it's the same image over and over.
The bottom 2 1/2 rows are from another day.

Interesting...it looks like a little girls first communion picture. Thanks again Rich for helping to id that signal!

I wonder if he is embedding anything inside his pictures? Using steganography software perhaps?

My X-wing and Trivec satcom antennas are indoors for the winter too. It has rained very hard here and I have retired my military antennas from harsh life.

He's back again today with a different image.

I camped on that frequency for a few hours.

The first images are noisy because I wasn't paying close attention and I had the RF gain turned way down.
