I see that Mobile County has applied to the FCC to erect a digitally trunked radio system. The only emission designator listed for each frequency is "13K1F9W," which is "Harris OpenSky [SMR 4 Slot]" technology. Does anyone have more insight on this new radio system?

I'd be very surprised if they are building an Open Sky system. My understanding is that Harris has abandoned Open Sky, or at least won't be building any new systems. EDACS is also EOL.

From other posts on this forum and other forums, my understanding is that there is going to be some sort of combined Mobile City/County Harris P25 system, with a lot of encryption to be used.
