Scanner reception problems while broadcasting

I'm using a Uniden BCD536HP. I'm able to pick up fine when I don't have the scanner connected to my computer with audio cables. However, when I do connect to my computer to broadcast, I'm not able to pick up hardly anything.

I'm thinking it's a power supply ground issue or something along that line. Any suggestions?

I'm having a similar issue. When I listen to the scanner itself (Uniden Bearcat), there is virtually no static present. In-between traffic, I get a bit more static than I think is usual / normal (and compared to another local broadcast). I picked up a ground loop isolator, but I'm still having this issue. I am broadcasting audio only, through the "mic in" on an old junker laptop I have laying around. Any ideas?
