Does anyone know a formula for calculating valid TGID numbers? I'd like to generate a list for my use in listening for useful talkgroups.

they are multiples of 16 or in a moto II system. it would help if you had your location in your CP.

I had read in another thread here that that was the formula. Yet, I have numerous TGIDs that are not divisible by 16. Can anyone enlighten me? Located in Huntsville.

Only the older Motorola 3600baud trunking systems will have talkgroups divisible by 16.

You're looking at a newer P25 system so the rule doesn't apply.

Ok, that much I had figured out. So, anyone know how to do this for P25 systems?

Do what?

There is no rule for P25 systems. As long as the talkgroups stay between 1 and the maximum they're all good.
