Time for the new thread.

Heard MUSSELL-11B earlier tonight heading out to the Mt Weather. First time hearing such a suffix.

And then oddly I heard a RAVAGE flight RTB Andrews on 125.65 then 118.4 rather than UHF.

Odd strong almost musical tones late today strongest around 138.300 AM mode.
Also heard in background of Andrews CP 141.550 coms.
That new Aberdeen Army test blimp mentioned using a VHF long distance radar system.
Wonder if this is cause? 4 different tones then 3 second pause,4 different tones then pause etc.
almost sounds like beginner on cheap organ keyboard player.Continuing all night here.

Correction 12:15am local it stopped switched to weak single beep every 5 seconds then gone.

thanks to all for posts/info.
just redid my 898, cleaned out some of the older stuff and making sure I have active stuff.

BANGER or BANKER? I remember discussing this a few years ago. Always sounded like Banger to me.

There's no doubt about it being BANKER. Currently BANKR18 and RAMRODs in the CAP.***

BANKER is a tanker callsign usually associated with CAP missions.
BANGER is a known callsign from the 177th out of ACY. (Also: Devil, Aero, Bicep and a bunch more)

Had a USN E-2 go right over my head in north Ocean City yesterday westbound around 1300-1500, dunno if anyone got any comms off them. I couldn't see tail letters or anything, it literally went directly over me.

My internet connection got interrupted right when I was going to post about 1920.

NIGHTHAWK11 made a few landings at Mt Weather before heading back east.

I had recorded a set of transmissions back in October, 2012 from here in Hagerstown on 151.940 (245 DPL) between Spyglass 34 (helicoptor or airplane) and Manic 99 (base) performing what sounded like training ops watching and hitting targets with all comms sounding very coded. I'm betting that it was Sierra Nevada doing training ops but just curious if anyone has ever heard those callsigns before. Thanks!

RRR6664 C-17 ZZ172 inbound somewhere. <1600ft now
Haven't heard it, must be Dulles, have it 200ft now.

Freq, you didn't happen to catch a radio ID, did you?

Haven't been listening for it with ATC. In July it was JENA100. In December it was LIMO100.
