• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I been programming my HT1250 and have it doing everything I want except for 2 things.

1) I can get it to do the Start-up self test beep. What is it called, and where may I find it in the CPS?

2) I want the MDC to ID on the screen. I have the Display Decoder ID checked in the MDC system 1 of 1 tab, but nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated, I a search in RR but didn't come up with anything readily available.

Thanks
John

Radio Configuration --> Alert Tones tab --> Power Up Tone Type. It's a drop down with three choices: Disabled, Normal, Musical

2) I want the MDC to ID on the screen. I have the Display Decoder ID checked in the MDC system 1 of 1 tab, but nothing happens.
For MDC ID to work, the transmitting radio has to send the code to your receiving radio.

In the CPS, in the Personality where you want to have MDC ID work, you must assign the MDC system to the receive side before it will work. Conventional Personalities --> (your choice) --> Signalling tab --> Assign the the Rx system with the drop down menu.

Search tags: The Professional or Waris Series of radios includes:

HT750 HT1250 HT1550 EX500 EX600 EX560 EX650 PR860 CDM750 CDM1250 CDM1550 HT1250LS+ CDM1550LS+ CDM1550LS

It may be helpful to search using wildcards. If someone asks a question about one model,
the answer usually pertains to most, if not all. They are all programmed with HVN9025 CPS.

Check Radio Configuration --> Basic tab and make sure that Disable Alerts is set to None.

Other than that, I see nothing in the CPS that would block Power Up Test beep.

Steve, you were on the money. I have it working just the way I want it thanks to your help. Are you as knowledgeable with XTS 1500's as you are with the TH 1250's? I have a few scan group questions for the XTS.
