I've done installs with LMR-240, and it worked well. Only trouble I had was that it's pretty stiff, pretty sure it has a solid center conductor. It can make installation a little bit harder. I've heard people claim that the solid center conductor can migrate over in the jacket over time and upset the impedance or even short to the shield, but I've personally never seen it happen.
If you've got it, go ahead and install it.
On the other hand, I've got about 50 800MHz mobiles at work that all have RG-58 and they work just fine.
If you can find it, RG-58 dual shield has a bit less loss on the higher frequencies than standard RG-58. Probably wouldn't be noticeable without test equipment, though.
