"The Stick" is a helically wound vertical antenna housed inside durable tube housing with top and bottom cap fittings. "The Stick" has a mounting bracket and comes with two screws to mount the antenna to your desired location. "The Stick" has a 20 foot 18 gauge copper primary lead in wire that is plastic coated with a alligator clip for easy connection to your radio.
Probably works pretty well for listening.
I use a Workman Hamstick (my ham radio mobile antenna) in my rented house which isn't much different and I hear pretty well.
Sorry I saw the description and when I tried to look it up searching for helically wound vertical antenna i got different websites and diy designs. i want to try building this, does anyone know a good diy design i can try.
Just get a length of dowel or PVC pipe and a bunch of wire. Get to winding….
I made one back when I was in high school to get on CB. Not sure how good it was, but I could talk to my buddy a few blocks away. Never did try it for receiving much.
