Radio Shacks closing in Ohio!

Hey all, Not sure if your looking for a decent deal, but all of the radio shacks in Lake County are closing and holding 25% off everything in their stores! I was in the store at Willoughby yesterday, and he said the only one in the area that will remain open is the Euclid store.

When is the closing date?

According to this article RadioShack is through, they are all closing...nationwide. Also the New York Stock Exchange said Monday it would suspend trading of the stock immediately.

So I wonder if they will have storewide closing sales and markdowns or if they will just load everything up on trucks to be sent to a liquidator and just lock the doors?

I have been to the one in the Great Lakes Mall, One in Mentor in the Old Navy Plaza, and the one in Willoughby all with signs that state 25-50% off everything. I did look at the scanners there, and they were only marked down 25%. They had Home Patrols and some others…

Only because I need a quick answer or I would do my own research what would be the best RS Scanner to buy. I have HP’s. What would be the equivalent or better from RS. I need to be able to cover everything an HP would cover here is Cuyahoga Co. Ohio.

I would check their website too, I just looked it up and they had markdowns on almost everything on their website.

I wonder if they will have any deals on the Uniden BCD536HP

The store in Willoughby today had a sign that said 8 days left!

I checked out 3 in my area that were closing. No scanners or radio stuff of any kind. Just a bunch of I-Phone cases and whatnot.

All three store managers said that their supply of scanners were shipped to other stores that are not yet set to close.

So, I found no deals.

Local Radio Shack is not closing

The Radio Shack on Snow Road near the corner of Broadview and Snow Road in Parma is not closing.

I saw the store was missing from the published closing list, so I stopped in to check things out. Basically nothing was on sale. I asked the Manager if they were closing, he said no. The other local (Cuyahoga County) stores were closing down, but this store (Broadview & Snow roads) wasn't.

Bottom line, no deals to be had at this store.

Just an FYI so no one wastes there time no scanners or accessories at the RS in Willoughby at Euclid and 91.

I stopped at the Toledo store and they had ZERO scanners, ZERO radios - all sent to other stores, so NO bargains to be had unless you wanted a POS cellphone case. Did have a few kits, but only marked-down 25% - wonder if they'll ever get to 50% off, or keep shuffling the merchandise to stores that are still open, or will sell them full-price on their website? I was hoping that they'd have at least 2 or 3 scanners. Nope.

Drove by the store in Willoughby yesterday, was closed up. I know the store in the great lakes mall was going to close, but went there the other day and they said that they will remain open. When they first had the store clearance signs up they had HPs for 25% off.

Nothing much at the Holland or Maumee stores. No scanners, just some accessories. Tried to buy some of the dinged-up 7-drawer parts cabinets, but they had a real stupid price on them ($300 each for what sells at an auction for $25-100). I offered $100 each if they kept the crappy parts in them, but the sales droid had no authority to make any deals. He let it slip that he wanted them for himself.

Rossford has 1 PRO652 for $240

Looks like Boardman (US224 at Doral Drive) and Canfield (US224 at Ohio 11, more or less) are going to stay up, but I haven't been in either one lately. (They're not on the list posted above.)

I spent a pile of money in there - useful stuff that wasn't totally crap, and during occasional loopy projects, they were open on Sunday when I needed to spent $4 on a $0.40 IC or something like that. For me, the loss will be the "small parts" that I can order easily from somebody, at very reduced prices, but who wants to wait two weeks for a battery holder?
