Parsippany Fire on OPS 20....

Anyone know what the deal is with Parsippany Fire on OPS 20 the last few days?

There fire repeater is having lot of problems

Any chance they will switch to the county for dispatching perminently?

I don't see that happening anytime soon.

They were doing tests on the main FD repeater this morning. Sounded good to me coming up 206 through Chester & Flanders...

Do you know what frequency the tests were being conducted on?

They have been having horrible interference on their radio system. They will be utilizing Ops 20 when transmissions over their own radio system become unintelligible. I believe EMS has all their radio traffic on Ops 20. As far as I know fire is an as needed utilization.

This is a temporary solution until their radio system gets fixed. There is no plan I have heard of to move over to the Morris County Trunked system. It's just a temporary home, just like how Denville did the same thing when they were migrating radio systems.
