gmclam:

Thanks for the info. Referring to I-80, do you know the place, or the location where the Green (Auburn office) ends and the Gray (Truckee) begins.

Unfortunately, the exact line is not easy to describe. Here is a CHP wiki page, and a link at the bottom of that loads a map in pdf.

Also, for example, I'll hear stops on Black at El Dorado Hills Blvd on eastbound 50, which is Green. Or responses on Green to incidents at the Riverside exit of westbound 80, which is Gold. It shows that where you hear something on the radio may depend on the direction of travel for the call.

The beat drops for the Auburn-area (45-XXX) line beats (meaning freeway beats) are as follows (Green for primary):

45-281: I-80 from Riverside Ave (Sac County line) to Horseshoe Bar Rd
45-282: I-80 from Horseshoe Bar to Hwy 49
45-283: I-80 from Hwy 49 to Hwy 174 in Colfax
45-265: Hwy 65 from I-80 to ??? (all the way to Yuba County if no -267 car on)
45-267: Hwy 65 from ??? to the Yuba County line (not always staffed)
45-249: Hwy 49 from north Auburn city limits to the Nevada County line.

A couple of Auburn's area beats (non-freeway) are:

20: Granite Bay area
60: Foresthill area (this used to be a resident officer, not sure if it still is)

The 80 beats were confirmed with Sac CHP Dispatch just a couple weeks ago. The others are firm based upon years of monitoring and conversations with officers.

Truckee (actually Dutch Flat office) takes over I-80 at Hwy 174

If anyone knows other beat boundaries, post 'em up.
