I have a BCD536HP monitoring the new Berks County, PA P25 Phase II system.

I have issue with it losing signal, if i turn the squelch up and down it will come back.

I'm also had nothing but problems with it picking anything up.

What is your "normal" squelch setting?

Also, what do you have to turn it up to for it to work?

Normally it's around 15. If I jump it up to 25 signal will come back and it will work again for a bit.

Here as of late I have signal but I'm getting no audio once so ever.

Wow. That's high. I run mine around 2 (as do most people, I think). Try a lower setting. You're likely way above the squelch threshold for that system - especially if it's simulcast.

It's a P25 Phase II system. I know hardly anything about it when it comes to programming and setting up the BCD536HP to actually be able to monitor anything

OK. Scanners 101:

Find an unused frequency somewhere. (CHANNEL - 163.5500 - CHANNEL for example)
Run the squelch down until it unsquelches (makes noise). This will likely be at setting 0.
Run the squelch back up until it mutes. This will likely be at setting 1. Set it one click higher.

Because that is a trunked system. You skipped the first step:
Find an unused frequency somewhere. (CHANNEL - 163.5500 - CHANNEL for example)

The key is that you must be monitoring a non-trunked non-CTCSS/CDCSS/NAC guarded channel in order to hear the squelch.

Or you can just set it at 2 which works for most people.
