Has anyone tried changing the Intermediate frequency (IF) filter on their scanner to see if that fixes this problem? Or any other hardware mods?
Seems all the scanner manufactures are basically using the old "tap the discriminator" trick to decode the data, just like low-speed packet or pager signals, and this isn't the proper way to decode RF data which uses phase modulation (CQPSK) in simulcast systems.
