I am sure this is gonna start the pro-encryption soap box machine when they eventually decide to upgrade to P25.

This did not affect the radio systems, only MDT's and computer networks. Voice encryption will do nothing to prevent hacking of anything, only provide privacy. Not to say it won't be discussed or implemented.

Hopefully that will be the case. Unfortunately, that is one of the biggest reasons why my department is on 100% encrypted system.

I was just going to say the same. City Hall doesn't have internet and email right now is about the extent of the DDOS attack.
