SDR in Midcoast Maine

Been thinking about getting one of those cheapie little SDR dongles to play with and was wondering if anyone around the area has one and what would be available in the area to tune into.

Was also looking at one of these radios to dedicate for the MSComm system only.
Seems a lot better than spending $300+ on a scanner that does apco25 phase 1 when i can get it for $150 and dedicate it just to the one system...

Looks nice, but does it TURBO TRUNK? I see it does alot, but if it don't turbo trunk, then what is the point?

I do not know what Turbo Trunking is.
But it does Trunk Tracking and conventional.

Turbo trunk is 1 of the latest digital trunking formats, and unscannable by regular scanners. Here is a sound byte of the control channel...http://www.kb9ukd.com/digital/TRBO.mp3

AAA is on an NXDN system, not MotoTRBO/DMR.

In post 7's video, he say's you need a FAST computer, and I don't think my clunker would keep up.

he is just using a scanner with a discriminator tap.
